Carve a Future, Devour Everything, Become Something: Interview with Darren Sylvester and Maggie Finch

Melbourne-based contemporary artist Darren Sylvester and NGV curator Maggie Finch explore Sylvester’s first large-scale solo exhibition at a public institution, describing it as a place for contemplation about life.

Sylvester is a truly multidisciplinary artist who works in staged photography, sculpture, video, installation, performance and music. Hopes and dreams, work conundrums, loss and longing, fear of death – these are subjects that appear time and time again in his work.
