Liquid Desire – Coming soon!
Salvador Dalí: Liquid Desire is the first comprehensive retrospective of the work of Salvador Dalí to be staged in Australia. Drawn from the holdings of the two largest collections of Dalí in the world, it will trace the genius of Dalí from his earliest years as an exceptionally talented 14-year old, to the final majestic paintings created when the artist was in his seventies.

NGV art after dark
Every Wednesday from 17 Jun to 30 Sep, the NGV comes alive with a variety of talks, live performances, music, and fine food and wine. The program offers music and performance inspired by the life and travels of Dalí from vibrant Spanish rhythms to early jazz and the wild and flamboyant theatre of Parisian bohemia.
Cost Entry to the NGV for art after dark is free. Admission fees apply for Salvador Dalí: Liquid Desire and Introductory Talks (6pm). Students receive $11 exhibition entry after 4pm.

NGV Artbeat: An Evening at Kazari with Ikebana and Installation Artist Evan Demas

Be guided through the practice of contemporary ikebana and installation with artist, ceramicist and Sogetsu ikebana practitioner, Evan Demas as he discusses his latest installation and assisting Master Tetsunori Kawana with his Five Elements – Water installation currently on display at the NGV. Demas’ large scale mixed-media constructions combine industrial, organic and antique materials and are informed by his award winning, avant-garde ikebana displays. Includes wine, sake, finger food, entertainment and a chance to view rare Japanese artwork.
