Julia Jackson (1846–95) was the eldest daughter of Cameron's sister Mia and Dr John Jackson. She was one of Cameron's most photographed female subjects. Her first husband Herbert Duckworth died prematurely in 1870. Later she married Leslie Stephen, a writer and critic. Two of her daughters from this second marriage became famous: the painter, Vanessa Bell and the author, Virginia Woolf.
