In photographs such as this mother and child study, Cameron's Madonnas are beautiful women posed as chaste mothers.

In her series of Madonnas, taken in the style of the Renaissance painter Raphael, Cameron combined her aspirations to High Art with the idealisation of family sanctity, thus relating the divine to the domestic.

Cameron's grandson, Archie Cameron, is the baby in this study while Mary Hillier is the mother figure. Archie appears as a 'divine child' in two other photographs in this exhibition.
