A pair of sandals, both in varying states of preservation. The left sandal is less well preserved, having a hole worn through at the heel and only a fragment of the strap on the left side remaining. The right sandal is more or less intact although the binding edge at the toe and the inside strap where it joins the heel are fraying. Both sandals are woven in a lattice design, with double-bound edging. The straps are bound with a softer fibre (papyrus or halfa grass?) and are thong-like, being joined at the sides near the heel and meeting roughly in the centre with the toe strap. Both sandals are covered in a fine coating of mud in areas.
