Physical description
The artist depicts Garimala, a King Brown snake, the main ancestral creator of his mother country who through writhing and circling formed the hills known as the Four Arches on the Limmen Bight River in South East Arnhem Land. Garimala is shown rising up from a waterhole created by the male/female snake near the Four Arches. The snake disappeared under the water, transforming itself into a rainbow serpent and then in the guise of Wawalu laid some eggs which are still there next to the river. The eggs which have never hatched are so heavy that it is difficult to lift them.
