NGV Kids
Salvador Dali: Liquid Desire

To introduce children to Dalí and his art, the NGV has a range of activities to guide and inspire. Children can navigate the exhibition with labels written just for them, become artists like Dalí when they join in the free art activities in the Dalí Kids Space, plus a whole lot more.

Labels Just for Kids!
Imagination, dreams and excitement are all part of a child’s experience when they discover Salvador Dalí’s art. To introduce children to Dalí and his art, the NGV has a range of activities to guide and inspire. As a new initiative, children can navigate the exhibition with labels written just for them – a trail of ants will be their guide.

Spend a day of discovery and art making, inspired by the world of Salvador Dalí with artist Juan Ford. Dalí’s surprising and fantastic art includes melting clocks, distorted figures and suspended buildings. This is in part a surrealist world where the real and unreal meet, where dreams and waking reality blend. Explore how Surrealists used weird but effective methods to inspire new art works. Create drawings and paintings based on strange reflections in highly polished surfaces of exhaust pipes, silver teapots and spoons. Fully supervised. Bring your own lunch.
