The symposium brings together leading international scholars to provide revealing and lively perspectives on the Dead Sea Scrolls. Chaired by Dr Rachael Kohn, Radio Broadcaster, ABC Radio National, Sydney with a welcome address by Dr Gerard Vaughan, Director, National Gallery of Victoria.

Speakers and Topics:

Dr George Brooke
Rylands Professor of Biblical Criticism and Exegesis, the University of Manchester and Editor of Dead Sea Scrolls and Dead Sea Discoveries.
Topic – The Bible and its Interpretation in the Dead Sea Scrolls
 
Professor Lawrence Schiffman
Edelman Professor of Hebrew and Judaic Studies, and the Chair of the Skirball Department of Judaic Studies at New York University.
Topic – Reclaiming The Dead Sea Scrolls: Their True Meaning for Judaism
 
Professor Philip Davies
Professor of Biblical Studies at the University of Sheffield, England, and Editor of the Journal for the Study of the Old Testament and Director of Sheffield Academic Press.
Topic – Messiahs And The Dead Sea Scrolls
 
Dr Ada Yardeni
Palaeographer, expert in the field of Aramaic and Hebrew palaeography, Jerusalem
Topic – How does palaeography assist in the reading and dating of the Dead Sea documents?
