Description
The hat has a deep crown and sloping brim. The frame is constructed of four concentric cane hoops, securing an open lattice of criss-crossing cane strips. The lattice overlaps more densely towards the top of the crown, leaving an open section at the top. The hat is decorated with three long curled pieces of cane, sweeping across the proper left side and a series of curled cane sections of irregular length around the edge of the brim. The overlapping sections of lattice are attached with fine copper wire, supplemented with adhesive along the brim edge.
