The Felton Society

'The support shown to the NGV by our benefactors is a magnificent inspiration. Our great collections are almost exclusively the result of 150 years’ generosity from our friends and supporters.'
Dr Gerard Vaughan, Director, NGV

The most celebrated and enduring bequest ever received by the NGV is indisputably that of Alfred Felton. To further honour this great philanthropist, the NGV has established The Felton Society.

To become a member of The Felton Society your bequest can be of any size; however, by making a bequest of $20,000 or more you will also be invited to join the NGV Foundation. The Foundation exists to attract and encourage donations, gifts, bequests and endowments and to honour those acts of benefaction.

The Felton Society is a major component of the NGV’s Endowment Campaign which aims to raise $100 million for the future acquisition of works of art. The Felton Society will play a key role in giving us back the buying power provided by Alfred Felton in 1904 and will enhance the continuing role of the Felton Bequest.
