Hold a fun art themed party at the NGV

Want to bring out the emerging artist in your birthday child and their guests? Then an Arty Party is for you! Choose a theme and we will tailor a party that includes a gallery activity, art-making in the studio and a bite to eat with a special kids party menu.

Arty Parties are...

  • fun
  • for children 5 + years
  • held at NGV International, 180 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne.
  • for 2 hours duration on weekends or sometimes weekdays during school holidays.

Themes

  • Making Faces - Discover the masks in the Egyptian and Oceanic collection and decorate a mask of your own.
  • Art You Wear - Check out contemporary art and make a badge full of ideas.
  • Paint a Portrait - Meet people in portraits of old in the 18th Century Gallery, then in the studio dress up in period costume and paint a portrait.

What happens at an Arty Party?

Choose a theme to suit the birthday child.After meeting your experienced Arty Party facilitator in the main foyer at NGV International, the party enjoys a brief Gallery walk that relates to the chosen theme.The party moves to the NGV Education Studios for the art activity followed by party food.

Peter Rowland Catering provides three menu options. You can choose to bring your own birthday cake or it can be included in the catering.

Arty Party Fees

Activity component

  • Up to 12 children (minimum) $349 ex GST*
  • 13 to 20 children (maximum) $459 ex GST*
        (Includes staff, materials and venue costs)
  • NGV Member discount of $50 applies to the activity component.

Invoicing

A single invoice for both the activity and catering will be issued at the time of confirming the number of attendees. Pre-payment or payment on the day is now required for our Arty Parties.
