Indigenous Art in the NGV Collection
Tradition and Transformation: Indigenous Art in the NGV Collection brings the NGV’s extensive collection of Indigenous Australian art to Victorian schools via online and interactive technologies. The resource includes detailed information on artists, their artworks and their communities, as well as stories, photographs, maps and videos. These materials are accompanied by classroom activities and teacher resources to help students explore, understand and learn about Indigenous art and cultures. Four topics – exploring identity, symbols, colour, line and shape, and personal portraits – reference specific artists and artworks with video, interviews and information relating to the artists’ country and Dreaming.
