I wanted to explore the mystical elusive states of innocence and paradise. Both states are entwined by naive purity and eventually eroded by the harsh reality of age, corruption and abuse. I wanted to capture the meeting of these states: innocence is a condition of mind and paradise is a condition of location. Although indefinable in content, both reflect the constant struggle the individual has searching for a heavenly paradise. This connection can be transient, comfortable or impossible. My piece represents an innocent that escapes her reality and finds her paradise.
