This still life was executed in a studio tradition, using traditional conventions concerning artmaking. Through the VCE process I struggled to justify the symbolism behind this piece, which was a vital aspect of the criteria. This painting is however, a technical exploration and homage to Melbournebased artist Carlo Golin. The meaning behind the pomegranate can be related to religious and historical connotations if one pleases, however this piece embodies my views on traditional artmaking.
