Amused by comical family photographs from the 1950s, I became fascinated by the humorous aspects of life. I couldn’t stop smiling when I looked at photographs of my grandmother sitting on Brighton Beach with her ample cleavage highlighted by an outrageous bathing costume. This inspired me to incorporate a reflective element in my works. I wanted to encourage the delight and enthusiasm that I had when glancing over the humorous snapshots of times past. Watercolour and technical pens enabled me to create the meticulous detail.
