My work focused on the theme of habitat, inspired by the rich diversity of structures and techniques with which animals build their homes. I wanted these large-scale chrysalis forms to emphasise the power of nature and the extent to which we rely upon the natural world for survival. Using industrial felt allowed me to mimic the flexibility of real leaves and remind us of the importance of natural structures in the creation of tour own habitats.
