My starting point was the quote; ‘When we are young we read and believe the most fantastic things’. Inspired by Dadaism and Surrealism I created my own version of a Dadaist poem. I followed a narrative style while still reflecting the arbitrary nature of Dadaism. Randomly selected words from an old book of fairytales created the story of a young girl. These words provoked whimsical, naive and surreal imagery captured in photography and collage. My handmade book was created using the aged pages of books, found materials and printmaking processes.
