I have visited Port Fairy for as long as I can remember and it has contributed greatly to my understanding of landscapes and aesthetics. Port Fairy one explores the connection between memory and place. I created abstract landscapes which reflect both my intimacy with them as well as the way memory has the capacity to alter reality. I wanted to capture the land in a single gesture. I used photographs for their realism and ink pen to echo the changed state of place and reality.
