The Continuous line drawing was created to visually present the activities and ideas relatable to being young and the positive things about being young. The use of receipt paper enabled a long and continuous drawing surface in which these ideas could be portrayed in a continuous and ever-changing way. I wanted to create a piece that was identifiable with other young people and as this theme directly involved me and my experiences and feelings as well as my peers therefore this was my inspiration.
Advice to new students
My advice for any students undertaking an art subject would be to stick to the set time lines in order to stay up-to-date and avoid an ‘all-nighter’ before the folio is due which many people found themselves in such situations. Also find a topic which you are passionate about and think that you have enough ‘strings’ to pull out and explore the topic in finer detail. Another piece of advice would be to not spend too long on picking a topic, as this can delay the time taken to actually start.
