Art Deco 1910–1939 Merchandise

The NGV Commercial team have developed a range of stunning Art Deco inspired merchandise for this year’s Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition. This exclusive range focuses on two key works in the exhibition:

Vionnet Evening dress and the Art Deco Rose

A range of sleepwear inspired by the Madeleine Vionnet Evening dress designed during the Art Deco period. The fabric print for this range was designed by the NGV and replicates the Art Deco rose featured on the Vionnet Evening dress. This luxurious range is made from 100% silk and includes a Kimono style gown, chemise, ladies pyjama set, camisole and short set. The beautiful rose design will also be featured in a tote bag, scarf, notebook, wrapping paper and badge.

François Pompon’s Polar bear

An iconic work of the Art Deco period, Françoise Pompon’s Polar bear sculpture is considered a masterpiece of modern sculpture. Pompon’s sleek design formed the basis of an extensive range of merchandise exclusive to the NGV Shop. This range includes sterling silver and bronze brooches, earrings and cufflinks as well as more contemporary Perspex jewellery. The Pompon Polar bear has also been re-created in a variety of stationary and home wares.

Other merchandise includes:

o The Art Deco music collection, a 3 CD set featuring music from the age of Art Deco.
o Themed paper products; Glitz and Glamour, Art Deco design and Art Deco travel posters.
