Monet agrees to exhibiting annually with the important Modernist Berlin dealer Paul Cassirer. A solo exhibition of 60 paintings takes place in June at Georges Petit Gallery. Included are Rouen and Mornings on the Seine paintings. The press notes Monet’s transition to more subtle and transparent atmospheric effects. Renoir finds these works “empty”. Monet’s art sales total in excess of 170,000 francs.
