1908

Monet experiences his first sight problems. He has very little vision in his right eye. To cheer up the ailing Monet, Alice insists they take a trip to Venice. Monet writes to Geffroy of his obsession with landscapes of water and reflections. In September Monet’s pond, Japanese bridge and rose alleys are described in detail in an article entitled 'Le Jardin de Monsieur Claude Monet', by J.-C.-N. Forestier, in Fermes et Châteaux.
