In 1984, Keith Haring was the first artist to create a work on the NGV Waterwall.

To mark thirty-five years since the mural’s creation and celebrate the exhibition Keith Haring | Jean-Michel Basquiat: Crossing Lines, the NGV has staged a contemporary reinterpretation of this extraordinary work.

We hear from NGV curator, Meg Slater, and a number of contemporary Indigenous Australian artists as they discuss the legacy of Keith Haring’s work, their impressions and the importance of art in the public space.
