Party at NGV International
For only the third time in the NGV's 143-year history, NGV International at St Kilda Road will be open until midnight. It all happens this Saturday 8 January.
Join us for a night of free entertainment, dancing and fun. Everyone is welcome.
Visitors can also take the opportunity to see the works of Norwegian artist Edvard Munch, the man who painted The Scream, one of the 20th century's most compelling images. Celebrate Midnight Munch and the final five days of the critically-acclaimed Edvard Munch: The Frieze of Life exhibition. (Admission fees apply.)
Saturday's music performances are:
Tony Faehse Duo (Latin Lounge): 5 - 7pm Federation Court
Orkestra Eklektika (European Gypsy): 7pm - 9pm Great Hall
Mink Engine (DJ): 9-11pm Great Hall
Relax in the Sculpture Garden with a glass of wine. Food and drink will be available until 11.45pm and the NGV shop will be open until midnight.
The NGV has produced two outstanding accompaniments to the Munch exhibition: the beautifully illustrated Edvard Munch: The Frieze of Life catalogue which offers thematic essays on all aspects of Munch's life and his work; and a DVD featuring interviews with the exhibition's curators, Elizabeth Cross and Dr Ted Gott.
The catalogue costs $49.95 soft cover, $69.95 hard cover. The DVD is a bargain at just $9.95. These products are a must-buy for all schools, universities and tertiary colleges, and for art lovers keen to enhance their book and DVD collections. Available at the NGV Shop or online.
