Art After Dark: On Saturday 7 May, NGV International will be open until midnight. Bill Henson opening

Following its successful season at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Bill Henson: 3 Decades of Photography opens this week at NGV Australia. The exhibition pays tribute to Bill Henson, tracking his career and development as an artist over the past 30 years. Says the NGV's Senior Curator of Photography, Dr Isobel Crombie: "I have known Henson and his work since I began as a curator in 1980, so I obviously have seen a lot of his photographs. But what makes this show particularly exciting is that it is the first time that I – and all of us, for that matter – have had the chance to consider the breadth of his work and to see it in context."

Top Arts celebrates the Class of 2004

The annual Top Arts exhibition is on again at The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia. See the work of 65 of last year's VCE Art and Studio Art students, selected from hundreds of Victorian secondary students from State, independent and Catholic schools.

Multimedia and video, painting and drawing, fashion and textile design, sculpture, etching, weaving – the use of materials and the types of art practice will engage, delight and inspire audiences.
