New to the NGV this month
It’s a busy time at the NGV with three exciting new exhibitions opening in March.
Cinema India: The Art of Bollywood opens at NGV International on 9 March with a range of Bollywood inspired programs.
At The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia, the ever popular Top Arts exhibition returns for another year from 16 March and the long awaited Australian Impressionism exhibition opens 31 March.
Cinema India: The Art of Bollywood
See India’s historical, political and cultural changes through the eyes of the Bollywood film industry when Cinema India presents some of the most remarkable examples of Indian cinema art.

Top Arts: VCE 2006
Now in its thirteenth year, Top Arts: VCE 2006 features 51 artists and more than 60 works by a range of secondary school students from government, Catholic and independent schools from across Victoria. Drawing on a range of experiences for inspiration, students have focused on themes as varied as relationships, identity, emotions, the urban landscape, and life pressures.

The NGV Women’s Association launch the year with a lecture by Dr. Judith Trimble, Associate Professor and Head of the School of Architecture & Building, Deakin University, Geelong.
In ‘Mythologies of Landscape’, Dr Trimble examines the fascinating world of sixteenth–century Venetian landscape painting 7 – the Arcadian dream – and its cultural, political and economic significance to the Venetian Empire.
