This school holidays take a fun look at animals in Asian art. Aimed at children of all ages, this exhibition includes 120 works that depict both real and imaginary animals across a variety of media.

This presentation will include an explanation of a number of the treatments that were undertaken for the exhibition, along with research into materials and techniques used to create many of the various artworks.

See artist Tom Ripon at work sculpting a large baby elephant from wire mesh, be entertained by KITA Performing Arts Company at 11am when they present Tricky Tales a performance based around three traditional stories from Korea, China and Indonesia. Paint an animal picture and make an origami jumping frog from 12noon.
Sat 10 Jan, 1–3pm
Once an art form for kings, Indian miniature painting has a long and rich tradition that continues today. Come and see an artist at work as she demonstrates her skill to create beautifully detailed miniature paintings. There will also be opportunity for questions and discussion. Children and families welcome.
