NGV Bugatti Appeal

The NGV is calling for funding support from the community to help us purchase Carlo Bugatti’s unique silverware masterpiece Dragonfly tea and coffee service and his most radical and innovative furniture design Chair, from the Snail Room, one of the most astonishing interiors in the history of modern design.

The opportunity to secure Carlo Bugatti’s Dragonfly tea and coffee service and Chair, from the Snail Room for the people of Victoria will never come again, the NGV relies entirely on the generous support of the community to purchase great works of art and we are asking for help to raise the funds needed to secure these remarkable pieces. This is a unique and somewhat serendipitous opportunity to bring two supreme examples of Carlo Bugatti’s silver and furniture designs into our collection: two of the finest and most important works he ever produced.

The NGV is seeking community support to raise $1.35 million to purchase these two works. For those interested in donating funds to the Gallery, please call (03) 8620 2415 or download the donation form.
