Legendary Heroes

The history of ancient Japan is a history of

samurai warriors facing death proudly and standing firm against innumerable foes. It is the bravery of peasant farmers confronting the Shogun, knowing that they were going to die. It is a loving wife protecting her husband for the sake of the nation. It is a history of rebellion against authority and a history of of authority crushing those rebellions.

It is a history of lovers who would rather die than be parted, of dispossessed samurai, of child heroes and lost children. Of faithful wives and fierce rivalries. Of bandit thieves and crimes of passion. Of archers and horsemen, magic and monsters.

Of love, honour and despair.
