Daisy Napaltjarri was born at Haasts Bluff. She is the daughter of Narputta Nangala and Jimmy Tjungurrayi Jugadai, the head stockman who painted some work for Papunya Tula Artists during the 1970s and '80s. She speaks Pintupi, Pitjantjatjara, Walpiri as well as English.
Daisy spent her early childhood in Haasts Bluff before moving with her family to Five Mile outstation. Later Daisy went to school at Papunya, where she lived with her uncle Riley Major before returning to Haasts Bluff where she finished school. She married and went to live at Kungkayunti (Browns Bore) and returned to Haasts Bluff with her daughter Agnes, after her husband passed away.
Daisy has been painting at Ikuntji since 1992 when Marina Strocchi was appointed to co-ordinate the newly established art centre.
