Peggy Nangala Jurra was born in the bush at a time when many Warlpiri people were living a traditional nomadic life, travelling constantly and hunting with their families.
Nangala painted intermittently for Warlukurlangu Artists from 1986, when her work was first exhibited at Araluen Arts Centre, Alice Springs. Her Dreamings were ngapa (water) and yankirri (emu).
Nangala's work was exhibited in Mythscapes: Aboriginal Art of the Desert, National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, 1989.
