The artist represents her father's country Kaliyangku, near the Canning Stock Route, where she herself was born.
The border around the edge represents sandhill country, the textured stippling indicates grasses and wild foods and the small roundels denote shady trees.
After rains, the water runs off higher ground into the low swampy area and forms a claypan at Kaliyangku, indicated by the large blue roundel. Kutungka people would drink this water.
This place has a special significance for the artist because her father is buried in the nearby rocky outcrop, marked by the red ochre oval shape.
