The painting refers quite literally to Narputta's country, Lampintja, a long, skinny saltlake close to the south of Karrkurrutinytja (Lake MacDonald). The long salt lake is represented as the long white oval shapes.

Narputta made this painting after an epic trip back to her country, Lampintja, a claypan depression close to the south of Karrkurrutinytja (Lake MacDonald). The trip proved to be an inspirational and emotional journey for the artist.
