Important information for schools
• Bookings are essential for all School groups visiting the NGV.
• School groups arriving without a pre-booking may be required to wait and/or buy tickets to temporary exhibitions.
• All student programs are one hour unless otherwise stated.
• All staffed sessions are conducted in the Gallery spaces with an Education Officer unless otherwise stated.
• Please be considerate of classes and the public in gallery spaces by keeping noise to a minimum.
• Remind students of gallery behaviour – please do not touch art works or lean on walls when writing notes. Eating, drinking and running are not allowed in the Gallery spaces.
• Pencils (no pens) and A4 or A3 (maximum) size pads only (with exception to the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition).
• We require a minimum of two weeks notice for guided booking requests.

Cancellation Policy
• More than 7 days notice an $11 cancellation fee applies.
• Less than 7 days notice the full original booking fee applies.

Supervision
• Teachers are required to remain with students at all times.
• Please bring sufficient teachers to enable the students to move around in small supervised groups.
• We require the following ratios:–
  Self staffed: Minimum ratio of 1 teacher to 10 students.
  Staffed by NGV Education Officer: Minimum fee of 1 teacher to 15 students.

Cloaking
Due to limited space we request groups avoid bringing bags to keep cloaking requirements to a minimum.

Conditions of entry
Taking photos and using video cameras is prohibited in areas which have been restricted.
Animals are restricted on the NGV Premises, with Seeing Eye dogs an exception.

Please don’t touch the art
The NGV Collection belongs to the community. Please help us conserve the art for current and future generations to enjoy by not touching or interfering with artwork on display.
