A Modernity Different From Others: Guiseppe Terragni in Rome

A recently established archive of Giuseppe Terragni’s works and designs has paved the way for an international travelling exhibition which explores Terragni’s projects created speficially for Rome. Exhibiting at the the Melbourne School of Design in the Dulux Gallery, Terragni in Rome juxtaposes archival images with contemporary photographs and combines designs, sketches and art from both completed and proposed projects. Terragni in Rome reveals a unique period in Italian architecture, with Terragni’s works revealing a struggle between moderl nad traditional, and reconciling a rationalist language with a Mediterranean spirit.
