Catalan designer Martí Guixé is recognised for his innovative approach to commercial products, interiors and food design. For the past decade he has reinvented food products and culinary traditions in surprising ways. His interest in food started from an interest in mass production from a designer point of view; believing that as food is mass produced it should be perceived as an object.
Guixé’s practice incorporates edible objects, performance, interaction and instruction. Before seeing Guixé’s upcoming exhibition at the NGV Fake Food Park: Martí Guixé for Kids, hear the designer share insights into his creative process and recent works, and what it means to be an ‘ex-designer’.
