For Van Gogh, working en plein air was essential to capturing the seasonal changes of the natural world.
In this Members Field Trip to the Royal Botanic Gardens, learn to capture colour notes of light and shade by drawing from nature en plein air. Guided by expert plein-air artist, Mark Dober, make use of observational drawing techniques derived from Van Gogh’s artistic practice.
All materials are provided and no experience necessary.
Mark creates his paintings and drawings onsite in the landscape, working in situ to respond directly to nature.
