HEADLINE: THE BLACKEYED SUSANS
The Blackeyed Susans have built a reputation for their moody romanticism and op-shop stylings. Declared national treasures by Rolling Stone magazine, they have toured the world, played with the likes of Johnny Cash and Leonard Cohen and released numerous albums of occasional beauty. Boasting members of The Cruel Sea, Dirty Three, The Triffids, The Jackson Code, Augie March, The Drones and Hungry Ghosts, the group’s credits read like a who’s who of Australian alternative music.
PERFORMANCE: SILO STRINGS
Silo Strings are passionate about their contemporary Australian and international repertoire. With an extensive recording and performing background, Silo are known for their evolutionary approach and their consistently high musical standards. Lead by renowned cellist and composer Caerwen Martin, Silo Strings is highly regarded for its dynamic and versatile style and extensive repertoire. Members have performed with UK trombonist Barrie Webb at Carnegie Hall New York and have played at many major music festivals across the globe. Silo Strings are graduates of the Faculty of Victorian College of the Arts and Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne.
