Regenerated Towns in Regenerated Nature
Presented by RMIT

This exhibition investigates architectural and landscape projects for the urban, economic and social regeneration of towns in decline in the Wimmera region. Design interventions are proposed in integration with land care activities related to the current large-scale reforestation project Habitat 141. Investigating cross-programming and synergy between dispersed and yet integrated spaces, and encouraging correlation between indoor and outdoor spaces, these projects envision sustainable activities – from ecotourism to environmental education/awareness, sport, art/chef residencies, organic food production, flower farming and other land regeneration associated enterprises – as strategic for the rehabilitation of these towns into resilient environments.

Regenerated Towns in Regenerated Nature: Environmental + Landscape + Economic Rehabilitation in the Wimmera Region is a partnership between RMIT, West Wimmera Shire Council, Horsham Rural City Council, Greening Australia, Habitat 141 and Parks Victoria.
