"For over a decade I have been using gingham fabric to construct woven tapestries which comment on my life as a migrant. I have made particular reference to memories of childhood and concepts of Home, employing gingham’s strong black and white contrasts to speak of polarity – here/there, north/south, past/future etc. Re-weaving the torn fabric transforms this universally recognized cloth, giving it a new identity in its altered state."
