The Cicely & Colin Rigg Contemporary Design Award
Louise Weaver

Louise Weaver is the recipient of this year's Cicely and Colin Rigg Contemporary Design Award.

"… Taking a Chance on Love extends many of the concepts and processes I have developed in the past. The ideas relate primarily to the natural world – in particular, the potential for natural and man-made forms to transform and evolve in response to environmental phenomena, allowing their continued existence as hybrids.

The three animal forms- Bear, Squirrel and Mink- inhabit a carpet island, their activities defined by the viewer’s imaginings; the potential narratives innumerable. No longer frozen in stasis, they are aware in their new world."
