2016 NGV Annual Appeal

We are very grateful to everyone who supported the 2016 NGV Annual Appeal.

Become a Collection Supporter

Becoming a supporter brings you closer to the NGV Collection, and by making an annual donation you will provide much-needed funds to grow the Collection for future generations.

All donations are tax deductible used to buy important works of art. If you have a passion for a particular aspect of the Collection your annual donation can be directed to that specific area of interest.

The NGV Foundation runs a dynamic program of events to recognise and thank supporters who give annually. Our supporters enjoy regular opportunities throughout the year to engage with the Collection, the NGV community and fellow supporters.

NGV Collection Supporters:

  • belong to an exclusive group of art lovers with a strong connection to the NGV.
  • are the first to learn about our exciting plans and developments.
  • be invited to a dynamic program of exclusive events (at least four a year).
  • have special behind-the-scenes access to upcoming exhibitions, programs and private viewings.
  • play a significant role in the growth of the NGV Collection.

Donate to the Art Acquisition Fund

Help us grow and develop the NGV Collection by making a donation to the Art Acquisition Fund. Your donation will help ensure income is available for important purchases of art every year.

Support NGV Kids

NGV Kids is an exciting initiative that connects children and their families with contemporary artists and designers, provides engaging publications and an annual children’s festival and touring program.

The NGV recognises the importance of our young audience. Acknowledging that our collection and programs need to be meaningful to our whole community and reflect its concerns, interests and aspirations, NGV Kids places children’s visiting experiences at the forefront of our programming.

Support NGV Digitisation Project

The NGV has embarked on an ambitious project to ensure the NGV Collection is truly accessible worldwide. We want our audiences to be able to electronically access our entire collection of works of art from the most iconic items to rarely seen, fragile and light-sensitive artworks that can only be displayed for limited periods of time.

With your help, the NGV will be able to photograph each work of art, undertake a thorough documentation process and complete copyright clearance. The outcome will be a truly rich tool for exploration and learning that will take the NGV Collection beyond the Gallery’s walls.

Support our Conservation Work

Our Conservation Department is responsible for the care and longevity of over 70,000 works of art, including framework, within the NGV Collection. Your donation will support this vital work to ensure the Collection can be enjoyed for future generations to come.

International Donations

The NGV is delighted to welcome the support of donors from the USA.

Donations and grants from the USA are administered through the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) of America and are 100% tax deductible.

For cash donations to the NGV there are two ways to donate:

1. For check, wire transfer, stock or credit card donations please use the CAF America gift form.

2. For online donations please use the CAF America online donation platform here.

For donations of artwork, CAF America will work with the donor and the NGV to appraise and value the artwork and organise the transfer of ownership, ensuring the donor receives the necessary paperwork for tax deductibility purposes.
