Supporters of Indigenous Art
The NGV established Supporters of Indigenous Art in mid-2001 to enable the Gallery to maintain the strength of our Indigenous Australian collection in an increasingly competitive world. Supporters of Indigenous Art (SIA) work to attract cash donations and secure gifts of major works of art for the Indigenous Art collection.
SIA brings together a group of enthusiasts and collectors. The group meets with curators writers, scholars, NGV executive staff and artists to view, discuss and celebrate Indigenous art, with a view to building one of the best and most comprehensive – and best displayed – Indigenous Australian collections in the world.
Become a Supporter of Indigenous Art
A broad, flexible range of options is available, including gifts of Indigenous works of art, bequests and sponsorship of specific works, communities or artists.
We welcome annual donations and all funds raised will be used for the acquisition of Indigenous work of art.
