In my sculpture I wanted to convey a feeling of isolation by using an elongated piece of wood upon which a tiny, contemplative figure is seated. The placement of the small bronze figure on top enhances the feeling of the overwhelming nature of the decisions we all have to make in life. The figure sits in a reflective pose, literally on top of its world. I chose the bronze and red gum because they contrast beautifully.
