Rated as one of the world’s finest French Chefs, Philippe Mouchel was born in Normandy and began his career aged 16. Mouchel then went on to open restaurants as Head Chef for the legendary Paul Bocuse in Lyon, Japan, Hong Kong, and Houston, USA. In 1991 he opened Restaurant Paul Bocuse at Daimaru in Melbourne to great acclaim, moving to Langton’s Restaurant and Wine Bar as executive chef, followed by Liberté in Sydney. In 2005 he opened French restaurant, the brasserie by Philippe Mouchel, at Crown, Melbourne before opening PM24. With his fresh take on contemporary French cuisine, Philippe is now being re-discovered by Melbourne’s discerning diners. Philippe Mouchel has been awarded one chef’s hat in the prestigious The Age Good Food Guide 2005-2012 in every year of the restaurant’s operation.
