Robin Bold

Robin Bold trained and practised as a furniture designer before moving into metalsmithing via her interest in the construction of handles and hinges for furniture. In 2004 she completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in Gold and Silversmithing at RMIT, Melbourne, where she now lectures. Her practice focuses on traditional silversmithing methods and the hand fabrication of objects.

Bold’s work has featured in numerous national and international exhibitions including the 2009 Contemporary Australian Silver and Metalwork Exhibition, Buda Historic Home, Castlemaine (touring regional Victoria), and CU | 29: Contemporary Work in Copper Exhibition, Society of North American Goldsmiths, Arizona, 2012. Her work is represented in The Marzee Collection, Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
