NGV Ticketing FAQs

How do I book a ticket?
Exhibition tickets are available from NGV online or in person from the Ticket Desk of the venue where the exhibition is on display. Exhibition tickets available online are for Adult, Concession*, Child (5-15 years), Family (2 adults + 3 children), NGV Members and NGV Member Family. 

Individual cards must be presented to receive NGV Members or Concession* discount.

* Concession applies to Australian Pensioner, Healthcare card, Carer card and Full time student card holders. Australian Senior Card holders are eligible for Concession discount on Wednesdays only.

Do I have to choose a specific date and time?
No. Standard tickets are valid for one off entry throughout the exhibition dates. Once inside there is no restriction on the amount of time you take to view the exhibition during the gallery opening hours.  During peak viewing times entry may be subject to exhibition capacity.

Purchase process
Please ensure you read the Terms of Use of ticket purchase before you proceed to purchase your tickets.

We accept all major credit cards. All prices are AUD and include GST if applicable. A separate tax receipt will also be emailed to you.

You will receive your ticket(s) via email in PDF format once your payment has been processed. You will need to print these and present them at the exhibition entrance to gain access to the exhibition.

Do I need a ticket for the rest of the Gallery?
Entry to NGV and NGV Collection exhibitions and displays is free. Exhibition fees apply for some temporary exhibitions.

Additional Ticket Offers

Unlimited Entry Tickets
Unlimited Entry Tickets are available for each exhibition for purchase only from the NGV Ticketing Desks. Unlimited Entry Ticket holders can view the exhibition multiple times throughout the season. Photographic identification or a valid NGV Members card is required to purchase these tickets, and must be sighted at each entry to the exhibition.

Group Discount
Groups of 10 or more adults receive a 10% discount. Please telephone 03 8662 1555 for further information.
