Paradiso XXIV, 19-33. Dante and Beatrice have risen up through the various spheres of Heaven to the eighth sphere, that of the Stellar Heaven in the constellation of Gemini, Dante's natal sign. This is the sphere of the redeemed souls, which appear as flames. St Peter, so blissful a flame that it eclipses all the others, appears and wheels around Beatrice addressing her in divine song.
