Lorraine Connelly-Northey

In this film, Lorraine Connelly-Northey describes the important influence of her mixed Aboriginal and Irish background on her practice. She demonstrates how she collects and manipulates materials discarded on the farmland where she lives, such as corrugated iron, barbed wire and sheets of metal meshing. The artist explains how she transforms these materials, regarded as 'rubbish' by those of European heritage, into objects of beauty such as Koolimans, which are related to her Aboriginal culture
