Aim

To consider the presentation and conservation issues involved in presenting Muller’s work in the NGV.

Preparation

To do this activity you will need:

• Read the information for Theme Seven – Contemporary Art: The Natural World.
• View the work either online or in the exhibition.
• clipboard, notepad and pencil, or other means of making notes while in the Gallery

Individual Task

• Describe the way this piece has been presented within the gallery space.
• What preventative conservation issues and processes would have been involved in the presentation and handling of this piece?
• The artist intended this work to be rearranged by the owner or curator, as they see fit, for exhibition. Imagine you are the curator. How would you arrange the layout, and who would you consult to inform your decision.
• Who do you think would have been involved in the decision-making? Give a detailed explanation for your answer
